Why you need PAT Testing certificates at your premises
According to the Health & Safety Executive, The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires an employer to ensure that their electrical equipment is properly maintained so as to prevent danger, but it does not say in what manner or how often this should be done.
They advise that employers should consider the type of equipment, its use and the amount of movement involved in that process.
PAT or Portable Appliance Testing is the best way of maintaining electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe to use in the workplace. Whilst most electrical safety defects are easily visible and will be obvious to the naked eye, some will also require specialist testing by a competent person who has the right equipment to do the tests and the ability to understand the results.
Please note that Handyman jobs will be priced separately from PAT Testing Certificates.
