Hi. I have just had British Gas out. First service with the care plan.
I was told the the boiler was 17 plus years old, thought it might be! The boiler failed on a few things. No overflow, needs need part inside and new flue etc 5-6 things need doing. Total was £700 including their time.
The enginner advised me that it would be a better idea to look at getting a new one as most parts for the boiler we have are not made anymore.
Question: would I be better getting a local gas enginner in to cost up a replacement? Can I fit my own boiler and get it checked?
Thanks for any help.
