Went into Dulux for the first time in two years yesterday. New face behind the counter asked i f i had an account. I gave him my name and he told me the account had been closed due to inactivity.
I picked up a 6in wall/paste brush and he said he would use someone else’s cash account prices to give me discount.
When I left i checked the sales note and he had got my name wrong, so was probably looking for an account that never existed in the first place, and he charged me the full price for the brush, as advertised on their website, so the whole discount thing was just bluster that they normally save for Joe public.
